Marvel have had a good year so far. Not only have they smashed the box office with Amazing Spiderman 2, the Avengers universe has also reached new heights with Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier.
And it seems they’re keeping their foot firmly on the gas now as Agents of SHIELD is renewed for season 2, and this years new entry, Guardians of the Galaxy, has it’s second trailer released. Watch it below.
We’ve seen very little of Christopher Nolan (Prestige, Inception) since the dramatic conclusion to the Dark Knight trilogy in 2012. While he tinkered behind the scenes on Man of Steel and Transcendence, he will be finally returning to the directing chair later this year with Interstellar. After months of anticipation, inconclusive teasers and posters, we’ve finally been treated to a full trailer.
So if you were like me and not interested in the pointless sequel to the pointless reboot of the Spiderman franchise, you probably didn’t go to see Amazing Spiderman 2. Or, maybe like my friend Tom, you foolishly left after the credits began to roll. Well we’re all retards it would seem, as Marvel managed to slot in a teaser for the up-coming Bryan Singer (Valkyrie, Usual Suspects) led X-Men Days of Future Past. Sneaky devils.
So I wasn’t hugely excited by the previous tidbits offered by Monsters‘ Gareth Edwards new take of Godzilla. It was deceptively vague on plot, action and the humongous beast itself. I was concerned it may just be a carbon update of Roland Emmerich’s 1998 farce.
Thankfully the latest trailer has put all these fears to bed.
There were two surprise badass additions to 2013’s slew of sequels and super heroes; The Raid and Dredd. While The Raid is eagerly expecting a sequel later this year, Karl Urban’s future lawbastard is facing a harder time returning to the screens.
